Jiangsu Binhai LNG Project

2024-12-25

CNOOC Yancheng "Green Energy Port" is a key project for thoroughly implementing the new energy security strategy of "Four Revolutions and One Cooperation" and accelerating the construction of the natural gas production, supply, storage and marketing system. It has been included in the key planning projects for national natural gas production, supply, storage, marketing and interconnection as well as the key engineering projects of the national oil and natural gas infrastructure. It not only has the functions of receiving, storing and exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG for short), but also integrates multiple functions such as gas power generation, cold energy utilization and hydrogen production from gas, making it a comprehensive green clean energy supply base and an important energy hub.

In the first phase of the project, 4 LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 220,000 cubic meters each and 6 LNG storage tanks with the world's largest single-tank capacity of 270,000 cubic meters each are constructed. This is the first engineering application of CNOOC's core patented technology for the construction of its own super-large LNG storage tanks. The inner tank volume of the 6 world's largest storage tanks is 270,000 cubic meters. The storage tank foundation adopts high-pile caps, and 406 sets of seismic isolation bearings are installed on each cap. With a diameter of 100.6 meters and a thickness ranging from 1.4 meters to 1.6 meters, it is the world's largest seismic isolation storage tank in terms of volume.
