The comprehensive seismic isolation solution of SAFETYINSIDE has been successfully implemented in the Forbidden City in Beijing.

On the afternoon of October 29th, the Northern Campus of the Forbidden City celebrated the topping-out ceremony of the first construction section with a comfort performance themed "Craftsmanship and Continuation of Splendid Chapters". It is expected that the main structure of the Northern Campus will be fully topped out by the end of this year.
Looking around, three massive buildings have "grown" out of the yellow soil that existed here two years ago. The buildings for artifact display, artifact restoration, and office services are still "dressed" in temporary coverings. Staff wearing red and white safety helmets are working in an orderly manner. On a display board at the site, there are eye-catching red words that read: Designed Service Life of 100 Years.
The Northern Campus of the Forbidden City project is a major cultural facility included in China's "14th Five-Year Plan" and a super-large comprehensive museum that is a key construction project of the Party and government organs in Beijing. The project has a total construction area of 102,000 square meters and is currently in the stage of main structure construction.
"Stability" is one of the architectural features of the Northern Campus of the Forbidden City. From the outside, the completed main buildings appear solid and steady. If we delve deeper into the interior of the buildings, over 300 seismic isolation and mitigation components will be installed in the second construction section. The combination of seismic isolation bearings, viscous dampers, and tensile devices serves as the "reassurance" for the buildings, achieving multi-dimensional, multi-point, and composite shock absorption effects.

Wang Xudong, Director of the Forbidden City (the Palace Museum), said that the construction of the Northern Campus project is a significant and far-reaching event in the hundred-year development process of the Palace Museum. Upon completion, it will effectively enhance the Palace Museum's capabilities in cultural relics conservation, research, and utilization, providing strong support for the scientific preservation and effective display of its cultural relics collection. At the same time, by strengthening international exchanges and cooperation, more excellent cultural achievements will benefit the public.
