- After the airport expansion, it can meet the annual passenger throughput of 11 million people and the annual flight take-off and landing demand of 84,478 flights at Lijiang Airport. Meanwhile, Lijiang Airport will be able to accommodate the take-off and landing of large wide-body passenger aircraft with longer flight ranges and more seats.
- "After the completion of the third-phase expansion and renovation project of Lijiang Airport, the classification of the airfield will be upgraded from 4D to 4E, with the number of parking positions reaching 50, enabling it to fly medium and long-range wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 747 and Airbus 330 series. By then, Lijiang Airport will become an important window for the world-famous tourist city and achieve the grand goal of entering the ranks of domestic airports with an annual passenger throughput of over ten million. It will make Lijiang, located in the border area, connect smoothly with the world and display Lijiang's unique ethnic culture and beautiful scenery to the world."
- Construction Scale: For the terminal area in the third-phase expansion and renovation project of Lijiang Airport, it is planned to newly build Terminal T3, a parking garage, an air traffic control area, overnight accommodation for passengers, viaducts and affiliated projects, security projects, etc. Among them, the building area of the terminal building is about 100,000 square meters, with a single-span span of about 69 meters; the building area of the parking garage is about 68,000 square meters; the building area of the air traffic control area is about 36,000 square meters; the building area of the overnight accommodation for passengers is about 18,000 square meters; the building area of the viaducts and affiliated projects is about 67,000 square meters; and the total building area is about 300,000 square meters.
