The seismic isolation scheme of this project makes use of the elevated ground floor. The upper core tube is hung downwards, and the seismic isolation bearings are arranged in a staggered manner. In this way, the horizontal seismic action on the upper structure is reduced from the original magnitude 7 (0.10g) to a level equivalent to magnitude 6 (0.05g). That is to say, the horizontal seismic influence coefficient can be decreased from the original 0.08 to 0.04, and the horizontal seismic action on the upper structure is cut in half.
Meanwhile, the seismic measures for the upper structure can also be reduced. The seismic grade of the shear wall can be dropped from the original Grade III to Grade IV.
