- Xichang is located in the center of the Anning River seismic zone, and four deep faults in the Sichuan-Chongqing region cross Xichang.
- Chuantou Xichang Hospital is a large medical building with excellent seismic isolation and mitigation in China. It is an international Grade III Class A comprehensive hospital and also the first industrial poverty alleviation demonstration project in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
- The Chuantou Xichang Hospital Project is located on the eastern section of Tianwangshan Avenue in the Western New City of Xichang City, the capital of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, less than 200 meters away from the Anning River seismic fault zone in Sichuan. The project covers an area of 202 mu, with a total building area of 297,900 square meters, and the total investment of the project exceeds 3 billion yuan.
- The Chuantou Xichang Hospital Project is designed with a seismic fortification intensity of magnitude 9. The seismic isolation and mitigation components include a total of 823 isolation bearings, 80 viscous dampers and 96 BRB buckling restrained braces. Compared with non-isolated buildings, after adopting the isolation technology, the superstructure of this hospital project changes from violent swinging to regular translational movement under the action of earthquakes.
