The Elastie Sliding Bearing isolates earthquakes and reduces the seismic energy transmitted upwards through horizontal sliding of sliding materials on sliding plates. It possesses high vertical load-bearing capacity, large horizontal deformation capacity, and its horizontal displacement is unaffected by the bearing height. With limited vertical deformation, it is more suitable for seismic isolation in soft soil sites and is generally used in conjunction with other rubber seismic isolation bearings. During an earthquake, when the horizontal seismic shear force acting on the bearing exceeds the maximum static friction force of the sliding surface, the sliding surface begins to slide. At this point, the horizontal stiffness of the bearing becomes zero, significantly enhancing the seismic isolation effect of the elastomeric sliding base isolation bearing.
